May 2024 – Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (CENORED), Namibia’s third licensed regional electricity distribution company, established
following NORED and Erongo Red in 2002 and 2004 respectively, is actively addressing a string of copper cable theft incidents across
Otjozondjupa, Omaheke, Kunene, and parts of Oshikoto. The campaign’s primary objectives are to raise national awareness about the
severity of cable theft incidents and to garner public support for ongoing anti-theft efforts. Additionally, the campaign seeks to cultivate
a sense of responsibility within local communities to protect crucial power infrastructures.
In pursuit of these objectives, CENORED has partnered with HEKAMI OUTDOOR, Namibia’s premier mobile out-of-home media
specialist. Utilizing mobile billboards in four strategic locations in Okahandja and Otjiwarongo, the campaign aims to amplify community
service messages and enhance their visibility.
